Michael Gustafson founded Atlas Academy in September of 2018. He began as the only teacher, with one assistant, in a classroom of 7 students. Now, he is the director for the Primary and Toddler programs; and principal for the Elementary program. He also teachers the "Plus" part of the Montessori Plus elementary curriculum: history, science, and literature. Before opening Atlas, Michael was a Kindergarten Teacher in Dracut for 4 years, during which time he earned a Masters degree in Education. Michael's passion is to solve the many unsolved problems in education, to provide the best possible education for his own children and for many others in the community.
Brianne has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood education and is lead certified through the EEC. She has been at Atlas for just about two years now and previously has experience working in a local public elementary school as well as another preschool. Outside of the classroom she enjoys spending time with her family, including her five-year-old son and dog named Kane!
Reshma Kundnani has been working with children for over 10 years. She was born and raised in India where she obtained her Bachelor degree in Education, Psychology and English. Over the years she has worked in private and public schools and also at non-profit organizations as a teacher, an organizer and an assistant administrator.
When she was exposed to Montessori philosophy while working at a Montessori school, she immediately fell in love with it. She decided to remain and grow in the field of Montessori education. She earned her NAMC diploma along with her full-time job. Subsequently, she also got A.M.I. 3-6 Primary Diploma from Montessori Institute of North Texas.
Dorina has joined Atlas Academy in 2019, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience. With degrees in Earth Science from the University of Bucharest, in Montessori education from Northeast Montessori Institute, and in OG Dyslexia Therapy from Keene State College, she can adapt her teaching to a wide range of learning styles. Her love for nature, books, music, and dance is transferred to students in captivating lessons, activities, experiments, and games. Favorite quote from Maria Montessori: “The child should love everything that he learns, for his mental and emotional growths are linked.” When she is not at school, she loves to travel, orienteer, dance, read, cook, garden, and visit with friends.
